Westmead Research Hub EMCR Committee

The Westmead Research Hub EMCR Committee aims to improve collaboration and foster unity between early- and mid-career researchers across our partner institutes by organising events and providing training opportunities. It is chaired by Dr. Nicole Fewings (nicole.fewings@sydney.edu.au) and currently consists of 14 members across our partner institutions.

Sydney Early-Mid Career Academic Network (SEMCAN)

SEMCAN is a community of academics across the University of Sydney, supported by the DVC Research Portfolio. The mission is to provide opportunities for training and networking for academics who consider themselves to be at early- or mid-career stages (typically less than 15 years post-PhD award). More information can be found here. Note that you will need a University of Sydney UniKey to access this link. The committee can be contacted via email at rp.semcan-c@sydney.edu.au

EMCR/HDR Student Mentoring

This mentoring program invites EMCRs, HDR students, RAs and other interested members of the Westmead research community to participate. The program runs twice a year, from February to June and from June to October , with mentor-mentee pairs expected to meet at least 1 – 2 times per month for at least 5 months.

If you are interested in participating, feel free to leave your information for when the next program begins. This form will provide us with a detailed list of available mentors and mentees within our community. Further information about the program will then be shared through this contact list. Please forward on to anyone that may be interested in this program across the Westmead research community.
