Our Partners
The Westmead Research Hub brings together seven major organisations to share facilities, resources and expertise, enabling large‑scale collaborative research across Westmead. It operates as a coordinated network where partners pool specialised equipment, co‑develop projects and support joint research teams, strengthening Westmead’s collective capacity in medical science and innovation.

Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI)
Driving advances in cancer, gene therapy, neurobiology and embryology, CMRI works closely with Westmead partners through shared facilities and joint research programs. Its imaging, proteomics, cell biology and single‑cell analytics capabilities strengthen collaboration and accelerate discovery across the wider Westmead research community.

CSIRO
CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, works closely with local research teams to advance bioinformatics, digital health and data‑driven medicine. Its co‑location accelerates precision medicine, imaging innovation and translational research across the Westmead community.

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD)
Western Sydney Local Health District delivers hospital and community health services across Western Sydney, including Westmead Hospital, and has a strong focus on teaching and research. Its Research & Education Network (REN) supports clinicians, students and partners, helping integrate research, learning and innovation to improve patient care across the district

Health Pathology
The Institute of Clinical Pathology and Medical Research (ICPMR) is NSW Health Pathology’s major diagnostic and research centre at Westmead. It delivers millions of essential tests each year and works closely with hospital teams. A major upgrade is expanding its labs and strengthening infectious‑disease detection across NSW.

Sydney Children’s Hospital Network
The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is part of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, supported by its research arm, Kids Research. Together they lead paediatric research, clinical trials and innovation, working with partners to develop new treatments and improve outcomes for children and families across NSW.

The University of Sydney
The University of Sydney plays a major research role at Westmead, working closely with partners through centres such as the Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC). With significant investment in new facilities, it drives collaborative research, education and innovation that addresses chronic disease and supports better health outcomes for Western Sydney

Westmead Institute for Medical Research
The Westmead Institute for Medical Research brings together specialised research groups working side‑by‑side with clinicians to investigate complex diseases. With strong links to Westmead Hospital and access to advanced shared facilities, WIMR drives focused scientific programs that translate laboratory insights into real improvements in diagnosis, treatment and long‑term health.
